These photos were taken on Christmas Day, 2000 of the transmitter site of WBBM Radio.
WBBM is a clear-channel station at 780 kHz on the AM dial. It is owned by Infinity/CBS, and has been on the air since 1923. Its all-news format has been in place since 1968.
The site is located in the suburbs of Chicago, between Elk Grove Village and Itasca. As you head south on Route 53 from the Northwest suburbs, you will notice two sets of antennae to the west. The northernmost set is WGN's transmitter site, and about a mile and a half south you will find WBBM's transmitter.
As time goes on, I will try to add more photos of broadcasting sites around Chicago. Stay tuned!
